It's a BOY!!!

We found out on Monday that we are expecting another bouncing baby boy.  We had an appointment at an elective 3D ultrasound business.  We had Shawn's parents, my Mom, Nanny, Auntie Florence, Andrea and Jeremiah along with Shawn, Liam and I.  It was a really great experience to share with everyone.

The night before the appointment Shawn and I were laying in bad discussing what we thought the gender would be.  All along Shawn was positive we would be having a girl and I was constantly bouncing back and forth.  That night Shawn said to me, "I think I'm going to be wrong with this one and it's gonna be a boy."  We talked about it some more then went to sleep.  When we woke up that morning, he said to me "I'm gonna lock in that it's a girl." Little did he know....

At the appointment, I laid down on the table.  Shawn sat next to me and our family lined a bench to the side.  There were so many screens around that everyone could get a good view of the baby.  Right after the sonographer put the probe on my belly, we could see the little baby moving around.  Shawn immediately said to me "I think I'm wrong!"  I looked at those little legs and there was definitely something there. The sonographer showed us the baby's profile and then moved to get a shot between the legs.  It was so obvious as she said "It's a boy!!"  I was so excited to finally know what we are having and can't wait for Liam's little brother.
Here's our reaction to findong out it's a boy!

And here's a picture of Carter James Allan.

16 weeks

My new chalkboard and a surprise extra model!! I think Liam was feeling left out.

Baby is the size of an ONION!

How far along? 16 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: I'm starting to confuse myself with the plus minus numbers so I'm going to man up and post my weight.

122 lbs -- +2 lbs
Maternity clothes? Still in between.  I'm ready to start looking pregnant and filling out my maternity clothes cause I've gotten some cute stuff!
Belly Measurement: 34 in

HB: 160 BPM
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Still tossing and turning.
Best moment this week? Went to Stacy's baby shower yesterday. It was a lot of fun and making her present made me so excited for all the things that I will be able to make this lil' bean once I know its gender.
Miss Anything?  Nope
Movement: Nothing really obvious yet.  I can feel a hard spot where I always find the lil' bean's heartbeat and sometimes I think I feel it move.  I'm still not calling it movement yet.
Food cravings: I'm back on the orange and cucumbers covered in lime juice and pico de gallo seasoning.
Anything making you queasy or sick: People's breath. I can smell people's breath from feet away.
Have you started to show yet: I think so!
Gender prediction: I had a dream last night that I was at the gender check and the sonographer said "It's a girl!" I think it partially had to do with the conversation Shawn and I had before we went to bed.  He is convinced it's a girl so we will see if he is right.
Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: Fatigue and Headaches
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Weekly Wisdom: Take some time to enjoy your family.
Looking forward to: We find out the gender tomorrow!!!

15 weeks

My Chalkboard broke into about 10 pieces this morning so I had to improvise.  I'm sad it's gone. I made that one myself but I'm excited because I have a new idea for a different chalkboard creation. I now know what I'll be doing on my day off tomorrow.  Next weeks photo will debut the new board!

Baby is the Size of an Avocado!

How far along? 15 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: +2 I knew the weight gain would catch up to me eventually.
Maternity clothes? Still more comfortable in my maternity pants but don't quite fit in them.  I'm only able to button one pair of my pre-pregnancy pants anymore.
Belly Measurement: 34 in

HB: 158 BPM
Stretch marks? No
Sleep:  I'm so uncomfortable at night and I wake up really achy.
Best moment this week? Liam has learned the word baby and will say it to babies he sees and we taught him to say it to my belly.  He was sitting with me in bed this week and pulled up my shirt so he could see my belly, pointed to it, said "Baby" and then started giving it his open mouth kisses. It was so cute!!
Miss Anything?  My chalkboard!! jk
Movement: I felt a few pops this week right where I always find the heartbeat with the Doppler.  Still not positive and it's not regular but exciting that I'm getting closer to some actual movement.
Food cravings:This week has been cottage cheese and BBQ chips.  It's a weird combo that we've been eating in my family for as long as I can remember.  I'm slightly ashamed to admit this but in the last week I have eaten at least 48 oz of cottage cheese. That's one ginormous tub and the normal large tub...
Anything making you queasy or sick: The smell of onions this week.
Have you started to show yet: I think so!
Gender prediction: Still don't know but leaning towards boy this week.
Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: Fatigue and Headaches
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy
Weekly Wisdom: Don't sweat the small stuff.  It's really hard with these crazy hormones!
Looking forward to: 8 more days until we find out the gender! And making a new chalkboard this week.

14 Weeks

How far along? 14 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 0
Maternity clothes? Still more comfortable in my maternity pants but can still fit some of my pre-pregnancy clothes just fine.
Belly Measurement: 34.5 inches, I will contribute the inch to the fact that I did just eat...
Stretch marks? No
Sleep:  I've been tossing and turning this last week.
Best moment this week? Had our 2nd OB appointment and heard our lil' bean's heartbeat.  It was 165 BPM.
Miss Anything? Nope!
Movement: No
Food cravings: I went to the grocery store today and got some oranges. I put them in a bowl and covered the slices with lime and pico de gallo seasoning.  Yumm!!!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Too much to count. I thought this was supposed to be over by now.  I ate some Chocolate Satin pie last night and then went to brush my teeth before bed which made me then throw it all up! Such a waste :(
Have you started to show yet:  I still feel like I'm starting to pop but it's only me.
Gender prediction: Still don't know.  I did the Baking Soda Gender test today and it said Girl.
Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: Fatigue, Headaches, Major Food Aversions
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy
Weekly Wisdom: Still need to drink more water! And stop stressing about not gaining weight.  I brought it up to my OB and he told me that he isn't concerned because I'm not malnourished.  He told me that I could go to 20 weeks and not gain and there would be no worry because by that time the baby still would only be about 10 oz.  He would be okay with me gaining 10-15 lbs this pregnancy, even though 25-35 lbs is what they usually say is normal.  He did say I will start gaining at some point and I may play some catch up and gain a little quicker later.
Looking forward to: 15 more days until we find out the gender!
