Nine Months

9 Months In and 9 Months Out!

Nine Months old today on the 9th of the month.  Three months until your first birthday.  You are growing so fast little man!

BABY STATS:

Weight: 17 lbs

Length: I forgot to measure you and now you are asleep.  I will update tomorrow!
26 3/4 inches

Hair Color:
Blonde with Red

Eye color:
Still blue

Diaper Size: You are in size 4 now.  You can still fit 3s but we were squeezing you in.

Clothes Size: I still am shocked that you wear 12M pajamas to bed! You have been wearing 9M clothes now.  You are too skinny for them but you are too long for most of the 6M clothes.

Nicknames: Tarter

Sleep: You are still sleeping great through the night.  You sleep from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM in your crib, in your room. You take three naps a day that are at least an hour in length.

Eat: You are still nursing and get so excited when I ask if you want "Milk" and do the sign for "Milk."  You scrunch your face up, start yelling and crawling quickly to me.  You also MUST have some of whatever food is being eaten in your presence.  You are a champ with eating regular food.  I will give you a little bit of what every we are eating and you go to town.  You especially love peas, carrots and pears.

Daily Routine: Wake up, Play, Eat, Nap.  Repeat until bedtime.

Milestone: You got your two top teeth! You now have a total of four teeth.  You like to grind them which kills me!

A glimpse of the top teeth!

You said "Dada" for the first time on 11/10.  You say it more than "Mama" now.
You are starting to let go and stand on your own. It's only when you are really concentrated on what you are doing because you quickly squat and sit down when you realize you are doing it.
You will also take a step if we stand you up between us.  You fall down or sit a lot when we try though.

Likes:  You love sucking your thumb.  You love wrestling and chasing Liam around.  You love to eat and eat and eat! You love bath time and have learned to splash. You like walking around pushing your walker.  You look like such a big boy!

Dislikes: You still don't have time to get your diaper changed. You don't like being set down right after a nap. You need to be cuddled and given time to fully wake up before you start playing. You

Eight Months

Happy 8 months Carter! Only 4 more months to go until your first birthday. These months are really going by too fast.  It has been so fun to watch your personality emerge more this month.  You are loved little man!

BABY STATS:

Weight:
17  lbs

Length:
26.75 in

Hair Color:
I think its starting to turn more blond but it has a red tint still.

Eye color:
Still blue but they are changing.

Diaper Size: Still in size 3.  I put you in Liam's size 4 from time to time so I know the switch will be soon.

Clothes Size: I can't believe that I have started putting you in 12M pajamas at bedtime! You have been wearing 6M clothes but I put a 9M onesie on you this morning.  You fit it perfectly so it's time to pack up everything 6M this week.

Nicknames: Tarter

Sleep: You are still sleeping through the night.  I stopped dreamfeeding you at 10:00 PM this week so you sleep from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM in your crib, in your room. You take three naps a day that are at least an hour in length.

Eat:  You are still nursing but getting solids also.  We give you a little purees but you are a champ at eating dinner with us.  I gave you a piece of the pot roast I made last night and you loved it.

Daily Routine: Wake up, Play, Eat, Nap.  Repeat until bedtime.

Funniest moment: You and Liam were playing this morning.  Liam had a basket on his head and you would hysterically laugh every time he took it off.  I couldn't help but laugh with you guys too.

Milestone: You said "Mama!"  The morning of October 30th, you just started saying it over and over.  I beat your Dad!
You started giving kisses last week.  We ask you for kisses and you open your mouth and stick your bottom lip out to kiss us.  You are too cute!
We went to Disneyland on your first Halloween.  It was a lot of fun taking you boys for the first time.  You spent most of the day in the Emeibaby.  You were so content all day but it really wore you out.

You stood for three seconds all by yourself yesterday!  Your Dad is still convinced you will walk by 9 months.

Likes:  You love shaking your head "No."  You will copy us if we do it first but will do it randomly all through out the day.
You love your Mama.  You will crawl up and want to cuddle with me whenever you start getting close to nap time.  If your Dad tries to hold you, and you can see me,  you fuss until you are in my arms.
You love sucking your thumb.  You sooth yourself with it and it's your go to when you start getting sleepy.

You love wrestling with your brother.  You will crawl all over him and laugh!

Dislikes:  You still aren't a fan of diaper changes.  You are just too busy to sit still long enough for us to change you so we have to distract you with toys when we change you.

Seven Months

Carter, you are seven months old today! Each month just goes by quicker and quicker.  It is so great watching you grow and change right before our eyes.  I once again will be filling this blog with your pictures because I can't get enough of your cute face.  I love you little man!

Daredevil in the making! I snapped this picture and tossed the camera to grab him.

Look Mom! One hand!

No more pictures!!

BABY STATS:

(So, I overestimated your height and weight last month. That's what happens when you weigh yourself first and then weigh yourself holding you to get your weight!)

Weight: 15 lbs 8 oz

Length: 25 3/4 in

Hair Color:
Red with a little blond

Eye color:
Blue with a little green on the inside

Diaper Size: You are wearing size 3 diapers.

Clothes Size: You are in 6 month clothes mainly but I have been pulling out a few 9 months clothes for you.  Some of the 6 month shirts aren't long enough and your little belly hangs out.

Nicknames: Tarter Sauce!

Sleep: You are pretty scheduled with your sleep still.  You take 3 naps a day and sleep, almost, all through the night.  You have been going through a spurt where you are waking up every morning between 2-3am.

Eat: You are still nursing and you have been getting to try more solids.  You like avocado.  We are doing a mixture of purees and Baby Led Weaning.  With Baby Led Weaning you get manageable pieces of solid food.  You don't actually eat much but mainly taste it and figure out how to maneuver it around your mouth.  You have tried green beans, noodles, bread, pear, banana, carrots, potatoes, chicken and fish.  Our only issue right now is you have started to bite me when you are nursing.  Not cool!!

Daily Routine: You are still on the same routine as last month.  You wake up between 6-6:30am.  Then you play for 2 hours before you take your first hour long nap.  Once you are up you play for 2.5 hours until your next nap.  We do that all again one more time for the day and then by 6:30pm you get a bath before your 7pm bedtime.

Milestone: You now sit like a champ without using one arm to hold you up!  It makes it so much easier for you to sit and play with a toy now.

You are pulling up to stand on anything and everything now.  You will even let one hand go to reach, grab, smack something or to just stand there like a champ.  You have also figured out how to crouch back down to sit after standing.  You started out just falling backwards whenever you were done so we had to start pitting pillows behind you to prevent a bumped head. You will attempt to stand on your own but that also results in a fall.

You have figured out how to blow raspberries! It is so cute.  You will mimic anyone blowing raspberries at you and laugh.

You used a sippy cup for the first time this month.  You still don't really know what to do with it so a lot of the time you are just playing with it.

Likes: You like to poop EVERY time you are in the car seat.  We really don't get it but its a guarantee that if you are in the car seat and start fussing, that you pooped. Haha!
You love your brother!  You chase him all around the house and laugh at him.

You get so excited to see your family.   Whenever you see your Grandparents you start smiling and crawling for them.

Dislikes: You hate having your diaper changed.  You do not have the time to sit still to get the diaper put back on once it is off.  You get so mad and try to turn over and crawl away before I can get it back on you.
You don't like seeing other people eat if you aren't being fed too. I was eating a Madeline and you yelled at me while I ate it.  You are way too young for a cookie so I didn't share.  You cried when I finished it.  I promise I will not eat anything you can't have, in your presence, from now on!

Half a Year!

Happy Half Year Birthday! Today you are 6 months old.  I cannot even believe that you have been here with us for half a year already.  I feel like I'm going to blink again and you will be eating cake at your first birthday.  Take it slow, little man!

I just couldn't pick one!

BABY STATS:

Weight: 16 lbs

Length: 26 inches

Hair Color:
Red (But I think you have some blond in there)

Eye color:
Gray Blue but the inside is turning towards green.

Diaper Size: Size 3.

Clothes Size: You are wearing 6 months. You fit them so well.  From time to time, I pull out a 3 month onesie but then I have to remember that you are getting bigger. What gives? Haha.

Nicknames: Tarter Sauce or Tarter

Sleep: Sleep is amazing! We did the Sleepeasy Solution with you right after you turned 5 months.  You sleep in your crib now from 7:00 PM to sometime between 6:00-7:00 AM.  That's right! In your crib, in your room, downstairs! You then take 2 or 3 one hour naps through the day, in your crib, in your room, downstairs. Can you tell I'm excited?  You have been doing this for weeks now and have been such a happy baby to be getting the sleep you need.  Happy Baby = Happy Momma.

Eat: You eat around every 3-4 hours during the day.  I nurse you, or Dad feeds you a bottle if I'm not home, right each nap.

Daily Routine: We have a routine! You wake up between 6:00-7:00 AM.  Dad or I bring you upstairs to our room and you act like a piranha, crazily trying to eat our arms, until we get your in our bed and I nurse you.  Sometimes you and I fall back to sleep for a little while longer.  When we get up, you play for 2 hours, until it is time for your first nap.  I take you into your room, turn on the white noise, and nurse you.  Then I lay you down, still awake, and you roll over and go to sleep.  You nap for at least an hour.  You get up from that nap and play for 2.5 more hours until your second nap.  We do the same routine and when you wake we play for 2.5 more hours until you go down for your third nap.  After your third nap, we play until 6:30 PM.  You then get a bath, we put you in pajamas and I nurse you and put you in bed for the night.  Before I go to bed, around 10:00 PM, I come down and dream feed you.  You sleep until the morning when we start our routine all over again.

Milestone: You have two bottom teeth! I couldn't believe it when I checked and saw them pushing up.  They broke through at the same time a week ago.

You are crawling! You are crawling everywhere now and you are so quick.

You can sit up by yourself.  You prefer to have one hand on the ground, like a tripod.

You pulled yourself up to standing in your crib! You had finished your nap, you crawled over to the side and pulled yourself to standing.  If your Dad hadn't gotten a picture with the baby monitor, I wouldn't have believed it.

You had solids for the first time.  You attempted earlier in the month to eat Liam's PB&J sandwich.  Liam walked up to you and held it out so you reached out and snatched it then shoved it in your mouth.  You looked so surprised once you tasted it though.  Dad ran over and took it out of your mouth though.  We gave you a slice of Avocado, last night, and you really liked it.  You put it right in your mouth but spit out the big bites you took. It was so amazing to watch you pick it up, put it in your mouth and try to figure out what this new stuff was.

Likes:  You love chasing your brother. You crawl after him all day long.  He makes you laugh and the two of you will just giggle together.

Dislikes: You still aren't the biggest fan of the car seat.  We figured out that you poop almost every time we put you in the car seat.  Right after is when you get super mad! We have started taking you out of the car seat when we get to a store so you can sit in the cart and check every one out.
You also don't like sitting still long enough to get your diaper changed or to get dressed. You are so ready to go, go, go!

Five Months

Happy 5 Months Little Man! The months are passing by so quickly.  This last month has been fun to watch you grow.  You are even more mobile now and are exploring everything you can.

BABY STATS:

Weight: 15 lbs

Length: 25 inches

Hair Color:
Red

Eye color:
Gray Blue but the inside is starting to hint towards green.

Diaper Size: You have moved into size 3.

Clothes Size: You are still wearing 3 months. You live in onsies because I feel like they are the easiest to dress you in!  They are getting a little tight so it may be getting time to try out some 6 month clothes.  You are still skinny though so that's why I haven't attempted it.

Nicknames: Tarter Sauce or Tarter

Sleep: Sleep is not happening for long periods of time so we are changing things up for you.  We got you out of the swaddle and you have been sleeping in the Baby Merlin Magic Sleepsuit.  We have decided to wean you out of that and are using the techniques from the book "The Sleepeasy Solution."  It worked wonders with Liam and within 3 days of starting it, we had Liam sleeping through the night in his crib. We just laid you down without your Sleepsuit while in your crib and you are asleep!! Fingers crossed that you start sleeping better today!

Eat: You still eat every few hours, either nursing or getting breastmilk in a bottle when Mom is not around. One more month and we may start giving you some solids.

Daily Routine: Eat. Sleep. Poop. Roll Around, Try to CRAWL! and Chew on stuff. Repeat.

Milestone: You are EVERYWHERE! You roll, get in the plank position, get on your hands and knees and army crawl to get things you want.  Dad gives you a couple more weeks until you are full blown, hands and knees, crawling. But I say "SLOW DOWN, Little dude!"

You got your first dose of Tylenol this month after your shots.  You looked like you could hear colors!
Tylenol Face!
You took your first bath with your brother.  We put your infant tub in the bath tub and put you in.  We then filled up the big tub and Liam got in.  You both loved it!
Likes:  You like whatever you can grab and put in your mouth.  You will army crawl to anything on the floor and try to suck on it.  Your brother's leg, a big toy truck, a book, your teethers etc.
You love a teether necklace I made myself to wear when Liam was little.  You chew on it until it's covered in drool.
You like the blue Lamaze plush horse that Liam had when he was little.  It was his favorite toy also!

Dislikes: You don't like being in the car lately.  You have been extra angry when you are in your seat.
You don't like when Dad has to put you down for bed at night.  You are much happier when Mom doesn't work late and can snuggle until you fall asleep.
